Kindness Unites Paperchain
Links of love and hope to unite the world!

Kids for Peace plans to set a new Guinness World Record by creating a 110+ mile inspirational paper-chain. They're asking for 2 million links of recycled/reused paper, each sharing a message of love and hope. And they are inviting everyone (children and adults) around the world to create links for their global Kindness Unites Paperchain

As of the Spring 2021, more than 170 schools committed to making paper chains in portions of a mile or more! Want to get your local school involved? Click here for a form with more info and to access the guide.

Here are the details:
• November 13, 2021—World Kindness Day—is their date to set a Guinness World Record
• All links must be 11-18" long and 1.5" wide, to fulfill Guinness requirements
• Use thicker paper that easily bends to make a sturdy link. Kids For Peace recommends using brown paper shopping bags, large mailing envelopes, cereal/food boxes, and thicker craft paper scraps.
• Get creative! Share your message of love, hope, and peace on your flat link using markers, crayons, paint, pencil, pens. Best to avoid gluing 3 dimensional objects to your link.
• Make as many as you want! Each link matters!
° Mail them flat or assembled to Kids for Peace in Carlsbad, California by October 15.
• More details about them and the project here: Kids For Peace

  • Portions of the chain will be distributed to hospitals, senior centers, libraries, and more as a reminder that we are all linked by love.
  • Each link maker joins with link makers across the world in this wish for peace.
  • Links can be made in groups: families, classrooms, schools, churches, businesses, organizations, friends... drawing each other even closer.
  • Teach by example that we are all in this together, each of us makes a difference all over the world.
  • Encourage communication, expression, art.
  • Increase kindness, compassion, creativity, understanding, fun, cooperation, joy, harmony, smiles, hope... peace.

Kids For Peace works to empower and mobilize youth to create peace through hands-on service, global friendships, and thoughtful acts of kindness. All you kids, big or small, raise your peace fingers...
