NEWSLETTER ISSUE 63:

Create Your own Google Jamboard Backgrounds!

What's up <<First Name>>! I have a great tip for you today!

It all started with an inflatable bounce house.

If you've heard me tell this story, you know that I had a love-hate relationship with that bounce house. I loved how happy it made my kids, but I hated how much time I spent inflating it, deflating it, packing it up, and then, weeks later, doing it all over again.

So, when I heard the bounce house making a fsssss sound as air rushed out of a hole, I was torn. The mischievous Jake on one shoulder said "Throw it away!," while the angelic Jake on the other should say, "Fix it for the kids!" Ultimately, the angelic Jake won. This left me with a problem: how do you fix an inflatable bounce house with a hole in it?

When you have a problem to solve, the best thing to do is figure out a tool that can help with it. In that situation, duct tape was the perfect tool.

In my classroom, I often follow this same pattern. If I've got a problem or goal, I identify a tool that will help me get the job done. And that's what I'm talking about when I say Educational Duct Tape: selecting a tool (like duct tape) to solve a problem (like a hole in a bounce house).

I hope that my emails can support you in identifying those tools for your goals and problems! If you've been needing a space for collaboration and engagement, Google Jamboard may be the answer for you. Here's a Jamboard tip . . .
