Ambitious Creative: Isaac Strickland

Maybe you have been seeing the latest radio and news coverage of a short on Arctic soccer? Isaac Strickland is the Iqaluit 18 year old behind the 8 minute documentary highlighting the beneficial impacts of a soccer tournament within Nunavut.

Having previous experience through Skills Canada Nunavut, with territorial and national competitions for video production, Isaac took his love of watching all movies (especially directors Christopher Nolan and James Wan) to the next level when he met with Adrian Assoufi in Toronto. Together, they made Playing Through Blizzards: Football In The Arctic. It was part of the Copa90 Creator Commissions, which highlights stories for the global soccer community.

Isaac hopes to do more filmmaking. Taking his keen observing eye into the next opportunity. Photography, shooting, editing and directing are his calling. Throughout the production process, Isaac is motivated by the audience reactions. The chance to preview the final results with people really makes the goal. Can't wait to see what is in the future for Isaac!
