The voice of singing europe

With its 37 million singers, the "singing Europe" is a key player for cultural development, education and inclusion. We are, and you are convinced of that. But does everybody know?

In January, we'll organize a reception in Brussels (Belgium)  to present the sector of collective singing to the members of the European parliament, to the press and to cultural organizations.
Under the patronnage of the representation of Hessen, hosting the reception, and with the participation of Barbara Gessler, head of unit of the Creative Europe programme, the presentation will leverage the results of the Singing Europe study to raise the awareness on the importance of the sector, both in quantitative and qualitative terms.

The Amwaj Choir

Created in 2015, the Amwaj Choir Schools Program is an educational, cultural and social one, providing intensive choral training (8 hours a week) in Palestine to 60 children aged 7 to 14. There is no prerequisite for acceptance: any child can join, provided they commit to the group project and activities with regularity. The first branch opened in Hebron, a town suffering from colonization at its heart and isolated from other Palestinian towns, resulting in a society which is closed within itself. The second one in Bethlehem, at a cultural centre attended by children from towns, villages and refugee camps of that governorate. Amwaj (the Arabic name for « Waves ») is increasingly oriented towards exchange projects with international choirs and musicians.
