Introducing... the faces of ECA-EC

In this new section, we will present every month one of the many people volunteering and dedicating energy and passion to make our network the Voice of collective singing in Europe.

Klara Mujica - Slovenia

Klara is a member of the Youth Committee since 2015.

When / where did you first come in contact with choral music?
"I first sang in a choir of kindergarten. We had a magnificent conductor.
My mother says she treated us as soldiers but in my memory there is only one moment, when I had a solo and I sang as if it was the last day of my life."

Creation of a National Youth Choir in Belgium:
We are strong when we sing together

Three federations of Belgium unite!
For the past two years the choral associations of the three communities in Belgium have been working in ever closer cooperation: Koor&Stem, Wallonia-Brussels - A Cœur Joie choral association and Musikverband Födekam Ostbelgien. What already seemed to be obvious at the European level appeared to need a little more time at the Belgian level.
The three associations continue to grow towards one another thanks to co-productions, and soon most likely the creation of a National Youth Choir to give the Belgian choral scene a recognisable face abroad.

In the Land of Opera, a Choir for the Tone Deaf

The New York Times presents the work of the Coro degli Stonati based in Milan.
"On a recent February evening, a shopkeeper, a former marketing director, a philosophy professor and several dozen others braved Milan’s bone-chilling dampness to do something that many had been told as children they could never do: sing.
Meet some of the freshmen of Milan’s Coro degli Stonati, or choir for the tone deaf, a consortium of vocally challenged individuals who are forcing themselves to overcome longstanding inhibitions in order to warble in public — hopefully, but not necessarily, in tune."
