Join us at...IKEA! Yep, inspired by a recent "confession" at our March meeting (check it out), we're hosting WWKIPD at Portland IKEA (out by the PDX airport). You can get there via the Max Red Line, you can eat some meatballs, pick up a kitchen tool you didn't know you needed, and knit in the living room of your dreams.
We will have door prizes! Throughout the event, raffle tickets will be pulled for a number of yarn-related and IKEA-donated prizes.

PKG @ Black Sheep Gathering
Call for Volunteers
Did you know that Black Sheep Gathering is coming to Linn County Fairgrounds July 4-7th 2019? This lovely event is located at Linn County Expo Center in Albany, Oregon and will have free sheep and fleece demonstrations, livestock and fleece sale in addition to a terrific marketplace. We would like to be a part of the fun!
Our guild needs volunteer help in staffing a booth to promote Puddletown and its activities past, present, and upcoming. Two volunteers are needed for Saturday July 6th and Sunday July 7th to fill at least one of the following slots:
July 6th, Saturday, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
July 6th, Saturday, 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM
July 6th, Saturday, 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
July 7th, Sunday, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
July 7th, Sunday, 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM
July 7th, Sunday, 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Volunteers would share information with the public about our guild, including past and future presentations, events and field trips and our Rose Haven Blankets charity project. In addition volunteers would give out swag including handy knitting tips postcards and free project bag patterns (there will be finished samples to show).
To sweeten the deal, one lucky volunteer would be entered into a drawing to take home one of those lovely project bags, so volunteer now!
Contact Kim at puddletownvolunteercoordinator@gmail.com to volunteer!

July Meeting Volunteers
Thank you to the generous volunteers that help us set up, greet visitors, bring snacks, and put away chairs and tables. You make it possible for meetings to go swiftly!
Kim Winter, our lovely volunteer coordinator, is always looking for volunteers.
She especially would like to ensure there are sundae toppings for our Ice Cream Social / Blanket Finishing party for our July meeting (more on that later!)
Please email Kim at puddletownvolunteercoordinator@gmail.com if you'd like to be a snack-bringer at our July meeting!

Rose Haven Blanket Project
We're collaborating with Rose Haven to provide handmade blankets to their guests.
How do we make and donate 20 blankets by October?
1. Choose a size: lap blankets and child-size preferred
2. Choose yarn: Machine washable and acrylic preferred
3. Chose a craft: Knitting? Crochet? Something else?
4. Find some friends: Knit or crochet strips and seam them together at a party.
5. Bring in your finished blanket, show it off, inspire others!
If you need a little push to get a blanket together, we're hosting a blanket finishing party (with ice cream) for our July meeting to encourage blanket finishing! Stay tuned for more details.

Catch Up
In our May meeting, we learned first hand what it means for patterns to be "tech edited" from the Unapologetic Knitter, Meaghan Schmaltz. Meaghan gave a compelling and fun presentation that instilled great value in this necessary step to a well-received pattern.
See the recap here, and catch up on our past meetings, too.

Knit Night is our evening set aside for discussing race in the knitting community. You need not be a Guild member to visit us.

WE *heart* OUR MEMBERS
We're hoping to give more of you kudos on our blog and social profiles because you are awesome!
Member Spotlights include pics of some of your favorite projects, your fiber arts discoveries, and what you love about knitting. If you want to be featured, let us know via email or at our meetings. You can also do our little "interview" any time. Just answer 5 or 6 questions of your choosing and email us back.
We also love hearing your great knitting-related tips! You don't have to be a Master Knitter, teacher, designer, or expert to share a helpful hint, learning, or tip at our meetings.
Let us know if you want to share a tip.

Calling Designers for Mystery Alongs
Deadline for proposals: July 31
The Rose City Yarn Crawl will host both a Mystery Knit-Along and a Mystery Crochet-Along
for the 2020 Crawl. With plans well underway for next year’s event, we are officially soliciting designers to submit proposals.
The Rose City Yarn Crawl is an annual event designed to highlight the amazing, creative, and diverse fiber scene here in the Portland metro area. Ten shops will participate in the 2020 RCYC, and the whole craft scene in Portland is highlighted, elevated and supported through this Crawl.
One big contingent of that crafting community is the diverse pool of talented designers based right here in the Pacific Northwest. We love what you do with sticks and string!
If you’re interested in designing either of the Mystery-Along shawls, visit our website for details and submit a proposal by July 31, 2019. The Rose City Yarn Crawl LLC will review the proposals and make selections in early August, giving each designer two full months to create the designs.
