By: Sheilan Clarke ● Party Funding ● 30 August 2018

Various high school teams from in and around Bloemfontein will gather on Saturday 1 September 2018 at the University of Free State to argue around political party funding. These debates will be facilitated by university students.

The teams will go head-to-head on the following two motions:

  • The House supports the Political Party Funding Bill

  • This House believes that the Political Party Funding Bill goes far enough to regulate transparency

The teams were given a detailed brief about the Party Funding campaign including the Political Party Funding Bill and were given time to prepare. This brief was delivered from an objective standpoint.

The debate which starts at 09:00 will follow a prize-giving ceremony including group awards and individual awards.

Whilst we are awaiting the signing of the Political Party Funding Bill by President Ramaphosa, MVC seeks to take this discussion to as many communities as we can to ensure all South Africans have the knowledge they deserve.
