Video Tutorials at the Library:
Better with Birdsong

Want a quick training on how to access books, articles, or journals through the SDZG Library? It only takes a minute to watch one of our newly updated video tutorials. But wait, there's more! Each one is accompanied by a different soundtrack from Sounds of the Parks, courtesy of the Sound and Light Ecology Team, Colorado State University. Birds, frogs ... what species can you identify?

Survey Results: Content or Access

Last month we asked which would you rather have, improved off-site access or to keep all our current online journals?

The majority of survey respondents (69%) prefer to retain  "about the same level of online journal article access I have today. I understand that not all of these will be available offsite (even by log-in), and the SDZG Library supplies articles and eBook chapters on request."

Thank you to all who participated!  We'll continue to explore options for off-site access and hope to identify more cost-effective solutions.  Currently, we are able to make selected resources available off-site to SDZG staff.  If you need off-site access, please contact us to explore our options.

The Call

The Call

By Beth Branning (2018)

For many years, San Diego Zoo Global (SDZG) wrestled with its purpose ... until it implemented a new breed of strategic plan known as The Call. This groundbreaking book details how SDZG transformed itself from an entity known primarily for its excellence in managed animal and plant care to a conservation organization focused on leading the fight against extinction. Written by SDZG’s former chief strategy officer, Beth Branning, The Call provides engaging stories and time-tested advice for leaders in any field who want to deliver on their organization’s mission. —Publisher
