Greetings!

As 2016 comes to a close and we look forward to what the future holds I hope you are all filled with optimism.

One thing that I am certainly looking forward to is the first Summit as IITA. We have a great education lineup, opportunities to experience the coast and a new appointment scheduling system. However, what makes Summit something to look forward to is you. We are in a business where building relationships is the key to our success, and as great as any itinerary may be, it is the people that make all the difference.  Summit is the place to make new contacts and strengthen career-long partnerships. So if you have been procrastinating - don't wait any longer to register for Summit. To learn more about what’s new at Summit and our new appointment system, please join us for  the “Secrets of Summit” webinar scheduled for Dec 15.

With a new administration arriving into DC just a few days before the Summit, this meeting of the inbound travel experts will become even more important to help define where we are heading over the course of the next year!  See you in Biloxi.

-Gary Schluter, Chairman
 Rocky Mountain Holiday Tours

Issues & Appointments To Follow in the
New Trump Administration

In less than six weeks, the United States will have a new president, Donald J. Trump. Given that he’ll come into office with a background in hospitality and travel through his involvement with hotels, casinos, golf courses,  and various other travel sectors, it could be a boon to the travel industry.  Nevertheless, a combination of campaign statements, key appointments, and policy announcements from either President-elect Trump himself, the leaders of the Presidential transition team, or prospective members of the executive branch must be evaluated to get a sense of where things might be going.

Forecast for International Travel 2017-2021

Always an attendee favorite Summit will once again feature the Forecast for International Travel 2017 - 2021. This session will examine the US inbound tourism forecast from the leading source countries and examine “up and coming” sources of leisure travelers to the United States.

This year we are fortunate to have Ron Erdmann, Deputy Director for Research at the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Travel & Tourism Office (NTTO) joining us. Ron is responsible for the oversight and improvement of the Office’s seven international travel and tourism research programs. These programs provide key market intelligence on the volume and characteristics of travelers to and from the United States.  Ron enjoys providing practical insights on how to effectively use research data to increase exports. Attend this session to learn more about utilizing the services of U.S. Department of Commerce and their research.
