Kudjip Nazarene Hospital Papua New Guinea

We Requested...YOU RESPONDED!
Cervical Cancer is common in PNG.  Most come to the hospital when they are in late stage cancer. Our Doctors have an opportunity to show not only the love of God but also the love of their American brothers and sisters.  We can assist them in this ministry by making Cancer Care Kits to encourage those ladies who are on a very difficult journey.
We are currently working on a short slide  presentation which can be used to present the project to your missionary group and church.

God, a Church, and a Girl!
Several months ago God led a 16 year old girl to start a project for the children in the hospital at Kudjip, PNG. Unbeknown to anyone, including her parents, this young lady felt a desire to show these sick children that the children in the USA care about them and are concerned for their well being.  After having visited the hospital in PNG, Allison was aware that these children had practically nothing to play with or to keep them occupied while recovering from illnesses or surgery.   On her own, Allison contacted companies asking for donations of coloring books, spiral note books, crayons and pencils.  Upon receiving packages from unusual companies Allison's parents realized that Allison and God had a project under construction.  Several days later a church randomly sent a box of approximately 1500 beanie babies as well as 1500 hot wheels cars and trucks.  Now, if you think this is quite a coincidence, you are wrong.  God was at work and a far off church and a young girl were paying attention!  Would you like to join them? Perhaps your children's ministry would like to help. You can join them by sending packets of the following: 1 spiral notebook, 1 coloring book, 24 pack of crayons, 2 pencils, beanie baby, stickers, and 2 hot wheel cars, placed in a 2 gallon plastic bag. The children of PNG would love a short personal note from your children.

Jeff and Dr. Susan Myers have been serving in Papua New Guinea since 2001.  They have two children Jessica and Ethan, who were 6 and 3 yrs old when they first arrived.  Both Jessica and Ethan are now students at Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

Susan felt a call to missions at the age of thirteen.   From undergraduate to post graduate studies and private to group practice, the Lord opened all the doors in amazing ways that affirmed His hand at work!   He provided a wonderful work environment with the additional advantage of all school loans being paid off while living in Tuscarawas County in Ohio.  God is good and He is faithful! Since arriving in PNG, God has granted the privilege of caring for the sick of all ages. Susan particularly enjoys looking after the children on the Pediatric ward and caring for women with cervical cancer.

Jeff was always on board with the idea of missions from the time he and Susan made their commitment to one another. However, it wasn’t until Dec 30th of 2000, that he heard very distinctly through the Holy Spirit the reassurance of God’s grace, power and leading as the preparations for a move to PNG were underway. Jeff, an Ordained Elder for the Church of the Nazarene, has been involved with the development of PNG’s Radio Ministry, been involved with multiple projects and responsibilities on the Nazarene Hospital Campus and currently works as the Field Church Development Coordinator.

Jeff and Susan are grateful the Lord has allowed them to be part of such an amazing team of brothers and sisters in Christ, both PNG Nationals and fellow missionaries. They intend to remain in PNG for as long as the Lord desires. They wholeheartedly believe there is no better place to be than in the center of God’s will and are trusting Him to continue to lead them.  They are a tremendous asset to the team of missionaries at our Nazarene Hospital and Bible College in Kudjip.  We are grateful for the sacrifices they have made to bring hope and healing to the people of Papua New Guinea.

Your prayers for Jeff and Susan and their family allow you to become partners in this incredible ministry to the country of Papua New Guinea.

We thank you for your continued support of Nazarene Hospital Foundation and the people of Papua New Guinea.  Would you consider a year end tax deductible gift to support the ongoing work of treating physical illness in PNG as a way to show Gods love and present the gospel of Jesus Christ to every patient that comes to Kudjip Nazarene Hospital?  May God richly bless you as you focus on Him this Christmas.
