CapeNature offers FREE entry to 22 nature reserves during 7th annual
Access Week
September marks Tourism Month and CapeNature invites you to join in the celebrations. The entity will provide free access to the public during its 7th annual Access Week, from 13 - 20 September 2021. In celebration of Heritage Day and Tourism Month, CapeNature offers the public an opportunity to explore their natural heritage at selected reserve destinations. This wonderful once-in-a-year opportunity gives visitors a chance to participate in a number of activities ranging from experiencing historical cultural sites, hiking, picnicking to mountain biking and birdwatching.
Visitors to CapeNature will enjoy free day entry (excluding overnight stays) at reserves ranging from the West Coast to the Winelands, Overberg, Garden Route and the Klein Karoo, as part of the annual promotion.

Leipoldt en San-kuns
Leer meer oor Clanwilliam se geskiedenis op ’n historiese wandeling deur die middedorp. Stephnie Murray sal jou meer vertel oor al die historiese geboue, waaronder die digter, pediater, botanis en kok dr. C. Louis Leipoldt se huis en die ou NGK-gebou en waarom dit as die Blommekerk bekend staan.
By die Clanwilliam-museum, ook bekend as die Ou Tronk, sal die gids Herschil Pieterse jou deur die 13 vertrekke neem. Elkeen het ’n spesifieke tema met foto’s en artikels uit vervloë dae en dek onder meer Leipoldt as die dorp se bekendste seun, die geskiedenis van rooibos, die velskoen en roltabakbedryf,
asook die komediant en storieverteller Tolla van der Merwe.
Leer ook meer oor die vroeëre geskiedenis van die omgewing op die Sevilla Art Rock Trail by Traveller’s Rest (op die R364 in die Cederberge sowat 40 minute se ry van Clanwilliam). Die relatiewe maklike staproete al langs die Brandewynrivier deur die voormalige woonplek en jagveld van die Khoi-San neem jou verby nege rusplekke met rotskuns onder beskutte rotswande. Hier sal jy ook springbokke en elande teëkom – van die einste wild wat van die rotskuns geïnspireer het – en jy kan aan ’n elandburger smul.

Rooibos Limited is saddened to share news about the passing of one of our directors. Gerrit du Plessis served as a director on the board of our company for 23 years. His passing is a huge loss to the Rooibos industry as a whole.
In this newsletter, we also share news about expanding our Quality Assurance Division. Recently, we appointed two new permanent employees in this department. Both of these team members have been working at Rooibos Limited since 2020.
The local Rooibos industry recently received certification from the European Union, which gives Rooibos regional protection. Premier Alan Winde visited Clanwilliam to preside over the handing over of this certification from the EU Ambassador to South Africa, to representatives of the Rooibos industry.
