Empower the Voter!

LWVCC members Needed!

Let's get out the vote. It's what the LWV does. Sign up at the picnic or contact Scott Hartman, Voter Service Coordinator to help. Some suggestions from LWVUS for local leagues:

  1. Host at least 5 voter registration events at local high schools, or under served voters, etc.

  2. LWVCC has signed up as a partner for National Voter Registration Day, Sept. 27

  3. Host at least one candidate forum

  4. Publish local and state online voters' guide on

We'll need members to help with voter registrations, post posters, distribute ballot issue pamphlets, add posts to Facebook, help at candidate nights, etc. LWVCC is looking at a different format for candidates forums and will need your help. Come learn about this idea. Be sure to attend the picnic and sign up to help Empower the Voter.

Ballot Issues?   Yes, there will be ballot issues.
This is the final week for the signatures to be collected. The Sec. of State (SOS) office has until early Sept to certify the issues to be placed on the ballot.

Keep current by visiting LWVCO's new website for the latest on the issues and to see which ones the LWVCO is supporting or opposing based on our positions reached through member consensus. The Pro-Con Ballot Pamphlets will be ready at League Day, Sept 17 in Denver.  We hope a couple of you are interested in going. It will be packed full of information. Please let Marilyn Box or another member of the board know if you're interested in attending and will bring the pamphlets back.
