Message from Pat

We are coming into the busiest time of the year—and it is exciting. This Saturday we had a record number of riders at the time trials and our certification classes were full! So more and more riders are joining in!
I am making arrangements to be able to ride 2-ups for the pursuits and standing TTs at upcoming sessions to speed up our program quite a bit. In the August calendar you'll notice time set aside for the US National Team to ride here as preparation for the Pan American Championships. When they are on the track, it will be CLOSED to other riders, but you are encouraged to come out and watch them train! Speaking of the calendar and time on the track, please note that a majority of training time is STILL open time. So come on out and ride!
See you at the track!

Tuesday Night Racing: Calling All Cat 4 Men & Women

Since the Masters National Championships, we have seen more Masters riders at the Tuesday night races, which makes it a perfect time for us to build up the Cat 4 Men and Women fields. This is a great opportunity to get your start, racing on the trackand for those who have already been racingcome on out and get your upgrade points!! We look forward to great week of racing, so plan to be here on Tuesday night!

Rider of the WeekDawn Orwick

An avid cyclocross racer, Dawn was convinced to try track cycling by her husband Geoff who she constantly out-sprinted during their road rides together. She completed BVV track certification in 2015, but remained devoted to cyclocross until she realized that her best moments in most cross races were “the start and finishing sprint with everything else being 40 minutes of pain!” So, she decided to really give track racing a go. Since that moment, Dawn has won National Championship medals and titles and like so many of our riders she is now focused on the Masters World Championships in Carson, California, this October. Though the speed and intensity of track sprinting is what excites her, she says it is “the atmosphere and welcoming BVV track community that has made me a true 'trackie'."

Sponsor of the Week

I moved to Boulder 15 years ago while in sales for a Fortune 50 company. In typical Boulder fashion, I left the corporate life to become a professional cyclist. I got my first taste of Boulder real estate that first week by buying a mid-century classic in Chautauqua. During nine years of racing professionally, I traveled the world and raced at the highest level of the sport. I consider myself so lucky to call Boulder home and hope to share this enthusiasm with all my clients.

In addition to the commitment needed to become a 19-time US Elite National Champion, I have been a key contributor to our real estate investment company by researching the buying and selling of Boulder Valley homes. The same focus and attention to detail that I bring to being a world-class athlete is what also drives me to be the best in real estate. My professionalism, enthusiasm for this community, and expertise in the business get results for my clients.

What’s that huge red structure on County Line Road? It’s a cycling track called a velodrome. In cooperation with the Parks and Recreation of Erie, you are invited to our special one-day event to give everyone—ages 9 to 90—a chance to experience the thrill of riding the banked oval track. Get ready to feel the speed!

  • Show up, sign a waiver, and ride!

  • Bring the family! Bring a picnic! Be a spectator and watch the riders

  • We supply the bikes and cycling shoes

  • Bring a helmet (we have those as well) and shorts comfortable for riding

  • Local champs on hand for demonstration races. See you there!

Learn about track cycling | Demo a bike on the banked track | Stop by to spectate!

Save some time by filling out the required waiver in advance!
