Message from Pat

I hope everyone had a great Labor day weekend!  Tonight is the final Tuesday night race. We will have some fun tonight featuring a special event that requires some unique race skills!  After tonight, all Cat 4 and Masters are invited to race the final weeks of Thursday Night Racing – we have added those categories back to the TNR.  This weekend will also be the Masters State Championships – Saturday will feature the Time Trial events and Sunday will be the mass start races. Look forward to seeing many of you out here!

Racing Recap

Last week’s Tuesday Racing BVV featured some great racing and also the mass start racing debut of Judy Freeman.  Judy joined the women’s field and we wanted give her a shout out to her – Not just for her results but for finally coming out to play.  Come on ladies there are a few more Thursday nights! Thursday Night Racing was a little lean with all the Labor Day action elsewhere, but the Motor Paced Handicap Lap Race Finale was hard and fun! Paisley Sheehan held on for the victory over Adam Pochon and Pat Warner.

Rider of the Week—Colby Lange

It was just two years ago when a Junior U.S. Ski Team racer came down from Vail to ride the Boulder Valley Velodrome for the first time.  It didn’t take long for everyone to see his potential and know that he was going to be special. Well this past week Colby was part of history as the U.S. Men Team Pursuit squad set a new national record 3 times on their way to a Gold medal at the Pan American Championships.  Prior to this past week no U.S. squad had ever broken 4 minutes in the Team Pursuit Their final time of 3:53.86 is within range of the World’s best. Great Job to Colby and we look forward to more as the Road to Tokyo heats up!
