Message from Pat

The last few weeks of racing have been terrific! We had the U.S. National Team joining us on Thursday, they also tore up the track during the Colorado State Madison Championships – Then of course our more experienced riders duked it out for Masters State Championship medals and jerseys.  There were a number of super performances so I'll be busy updating the Records page because a good deal of it was rewritten!

This Thursday night is our Season Finale! Come out and race!! I am dropping the fee to $20 for the evening.  We will have some fun races in between the hard stuff – There will be giveaways from Specialized and The Post will be on hand sampling their beers! One last thing – Olympian Mike Freidman is holding a Kids Bike Clinic this weekend in the BVV parking lot. If you have a young one or know of someone who does between the ages are 5-13, join us for this wonderful program.
More info below.
Look forward to seeing you all out here!

Rider of the Week—Sue Lloyd

Sue Lloyd had a great performance at last week’s State Championships but that shouldn’t surprise anyone. Sue began road racing back in 1980. A retired middle school teacher and owner of Inspired Training Center in Denver, Sue has been competing as a skier, runner triathlete, and road cyclist for years.

Sue began track cycling only last year. “My family encouraged me to give the track a try last year, so much encouragement, in fact, that they gave me a bike for my birthday!”  At the end of the season Sue traveled to LA to compete in Masters Worlds where she finished 4th place in each event. “It inspired me and my goal is to be on the podium this year!”

Like many of our cyclists Sue has found the other riders at the BVV have played an important role in her newfound love for track cycling. “I so appreciate the camaraderie of the track community. Everyone has been so supportive and willing to share information, resources, and wisdom. I love learning this new bike racing discipline.”
