Welcome to the Covenant on Demographic Change's newsletter!
Welcome to the Covenant's 4th newsletter! We will find below latest reports and updates of relevance for our work towards a more age-friendly Europe.
Last month, the Covenant’s Vice-President, Carina Dantas, was kindly invited to present the Covenant and its plans to develop age-friendly environments across Europe, on 13 October, at Naples, Italy. You can read more here. She also represented the Covenant at Age-Friendly Ireland’s conference on “Increasing Capacity for Age-Friendly Environments in Europe: An Action Agenda for European Cities and Communities”. You can read the report of the conference (in Portuguese) here.
In November, the SEED project was kicked-off. Thanks to EU funding, a consortium of key partners (empirica, AGE Platform Europe, the Assembly of European Regions, PAU Education, ECHAlliance, The Government of Biscay, Noord Brabant region, the City of Tampere and the City of Ljubljana), will be working hard for two years to frame and organise a European Silver Economy Awards. The call for applications is expected to be launched before the summer 2017 and the Awards Ceremony to take place in Spring 2018. The Covenant on Demographic Change will be strongly involved during the whole process. Stay tuned for more information!
