After 25 years of service to the patients of Burn Brae Medical Group,
Dr Noreen Powell will be retiring in April 2018. After training in Leeds and West Yorkshire, Noreen worked as a GP in Yorkshire and the Isle of Man before moving to Hexham and joining the Practice in 1993. Three children and 125,000 patient consultations later she commented “ I feel very fortunate to have had a job which has been so fulfilling and rewarding and it has been a tremendous privilege to serve my patients over many years. It has and always will be people that make me tick and it will be people that I miss when I retire. I know the Practice at Burn Brae is in good hands and wish my colleagues and patients well.” Noreen is looking forward to developing her creative side in retirement, and to more cycling and walking with husband Richard in the outdoors they both love.
Dr David Jones appointed
Dr David Jones will re-join the team as a GP Partner in April having previously worked at Burn Brae as a GP Registrar. Dr Jones will be working Monday-Thursday.
