Breast Cancer Screening
You may have noticed the breast cancer screening unit parked up in the Wentworth Car Park. They are currently calling our eligible patients for screening and we strongly encourage our patients to take up this offer. We had an informative talk from the screening coordinator and were impressed to hear that the screening process takes just a few minutes. Please do attend if you are invited.
Feeling Under the Weather?
There's a North East website designed to provide clear advice on managing common ailments as well as local information on pharmacy opening times for example.
The winter months bring with them an increase in minor illness that can be safely and effectively managed at home. The "When will I feel better?" leaflet comes highly recommended by our GPs and is easy to print at home. We also have copies available at reception.
If you have a child under the age of 5 you may also be interested in an App specifically for them. The App gives easy to understand guidance on childhood illnesses, recognising when your child is unwell, and advice on when and where to seek further treatment.
We have also purchased a number of leaflets for children called "When should I worry". These are a really useful guide to parents. Please pick one up from the waiting room to keep at home.
Self Esteem Course
This is a friendly (free) course spread over 10 sessions, starting in January 2019 on Monday evenings, from 6pm to 7.30pm at The Bodyworks Centre in Hexham.
For further information, including how to self-refer, please call Talking Matters Northumberland on 0300 30 30 700.
Congratulations also to Dr Emily Bryant who has given birth to a baby daughter. In her absence we welcome Dr Anna Bulbeck.
