While the rest of us kick back on this hot July day, Vermont's press corps is staying busy - read about it on Vermont Water Cooler.
On this hot, slow July day, Vermont press is breaking stories
July 9, 2019 - It may be a hot, slow summer day where you live, but the Vermont press is keeping busy.
In Montpelier, the City Elders are being asked to ban loitering by homeless people. Two drag queens will read to children at the local library despite a national protest campaign.
A Burlington cop is being criticized for wearing a Blue Live Matter shirt at an African-American museum. Another of Burlington’s Finest is under fire for cursing at a man who, body cam footage shows, responding by assaulting the police officer. The officer defended himself, and (maybe) as a result of the struggle the attacker died two days later.
And all across Vermont, illegal immigrants in ICE custody are being held in 10 jails. And – strange but true – the New York Times got a story wrong about Vermont, ICE and illegal immigration.
You can read all about it, and comment all about it, on Vermont Water Cooler
