Person of the Month
Each month we pick someone's name out of a basket, who has been nominated for their work at Trinity MCC, for the Person of the Month Award. This month we recognize the work done by Nita. Nita serves on the Board but does so much more too. Among other things she has been helping deliver Yellow Books and spent countless hours at the building ensuring that the new air conditioning is working just fine for us. Thanks you for everything you do Nita.
Pastors Holiday and emails
During August the Pastor will be taking Tuesdays off, apart from the first week which she will have Thursday off. Typically emails are replied to within 36/48 hours unless they are urgent. If you have an urgent need while Rev Catherine is off please call the church cell phone or a member of the Board and someone will help you.
Don't forget to do your shopping through Amazon Smile - we get money back when you do. You will need to sign up once for an Amazon Smile Account and then appoint Trinity MCC as your chosen charity. once that is done it will recognize it each time you go shopping and remind you.
Amazon will donate a percentage to the church of everything you spend. We do not get to see what you buy and it doesn't cost you any more. This is a way to help the church to fund-raise without having to do any work - which is a wonderful thing!

How can you can get involved or help Trinity MCC?
People are always asking how they can get involved or help at Trinity MCC.
We wanted to let you know the many ways in which you can help us. Trinity is self-funding and self-sustaining so having everyone be involved is very important.
1. You can be part of one of our teams - Legacy Team, Grounds Team, C.A.R.E. Team, Prayer Team, Fundraising Team, Worship Team, Board, Technical Team.
2. You can help with our grounds - we always need work done on our 7 acres.
3. You can help with our flowers campaign - pots, potting compost, plants.
4. You can pray with and for us.
5. You can tell your friends about us.
6. You can donate financially to our work by sending us a check, or putting money in to an envelope in the offertory each week (with your name on it) or set up a bank order to pay directly to Trinity MCC; that way if you are away the Board know that money is coming in and can budget accordingly.
7. You can share your thoughts and ideas with us.
8. You can encourage people to name Trinity MCC in their wills.
However you want to help us - thank you so much.

|Lay Delegates Corner
HI TMCC Family!
Dovey and I continue to Emerge as Trinity's Lay Delegate and a K9 ambassador for love and inclusivity. I continue to reconnect and network with fellow Laity and Clergy from all over the world who we met at general conference. I am also going to have a teleconference this week with Rev Elder Bumgardner to discuss how we can better make our home churches more inclusive to a wider group of people including people with diverse disabilities.
I hope you will join us on August 21, to receive my report on general conference and to allow me to share my conference experience with you. I hope you received my conference email blog. I still have it so I can still send it to you on request. I wish everyone a good end of Summer. Remember to Be MCC and to emerge like a butterfly.
Lay Delegate for Trinity MCC
Legacy Team Corner
The Legacy Team would like to start a compost pile in the near future and are looking for volunteers to start it and help maintain it. Not only would this help our plants it would also help reduce our waste. Think long term benefit for our plants both present and future ones. Please let me know if you're willing to participate.
I was saddened a few weeks ago to see were someone had thrown out a plastic water bottle on the grounds of our beautiful church campus. I intentionally didn't pick it up to see how long it would remain. It was still there a week later. I have been told by another Trinity member that they pick up trash on the campus a lot. Folks, this is not acceptable. This is littering! While littering is a big problem it shouldn't be at Trinity MCC. I would like to strongly encourage everyone to be mindful of where the trash bins are located in the church and social hall and use them. We need to walk our talk. If we say we care about the Earth then let's show it. Putting trash in the appropriate bin is a simple way to do that. We can do this!
Coordinator, Legacy Team
The Funraising Team have been busy looking at ways to engage the local community and raise funds for Trinity MCC. We had lunch at Chili's and are waiting to hear how much that raised. We are also delivering yellow books in order to raise some more funds. Our next fundraiser is our Bingo Night. We have some social events coming up too, which are including Marge's dinners. These will be on Friday nights from September (the first Friday of the month). The cost will be $7 (to cover the cost of the food) and if you have specific dietary needs please see Marge she will be happy to accommodate these. The meal will be followed by a time of socializing and playing old fashioned games (Not a Pokemon in sight!). The first one is Friday 2nd September.
Recycling - Did you know?
In 2015, we raised $314 by recycling aluminum cans. Since 1992, we have raised $4246.
The Weight of cans in 2015 was 1,052 lbs.
Since 1992 we have recycled 14,252 lbs of aluminum cans. Please keep them coming.
This month we want to thank everyone who has made the Yellow Book Delivery such a success. Those who packed the bags and those who walked the streets and those who drove others while they walked; thank you to every single one of you.
Happy Birthday from your Trinity MCC Family.

Madine Rawe, C.A.R.E. Team Coordinator.
When we were in Minnesota, our friend Jim had a red tulip that was so lovely and then it was gone. I felt inspired to write this for Jim.
The Red Tulip
Today I walked to the garden.
I wanted to take in the beauty of my Red Tulip.
This tulip was planted with love in a place I
Could see whenever I went to the garden.
The red was hot, like a flame on a candle, I
Was almost afraid to touch it.
As I strolled toward the tulip, I did a double take.
My lovely red tulip was gone.
My heart was saddened, my beauty had disappeared.
That evening as the sun went down, the sky was a bright Ruby red.
I looked up, then I knew where my Red Tulip had gone.

If you would like any important documents laminated, please see Barbara Haws. This is a fundraiser for Trinity MCC.
Air Conditioning Fundraising
The last week of June our air conditioning was replaced. We were very blessed to have someone who has loaned us the difference between what we had already raised and what we needed in order to get the new air conditioning installed. The Board have committed to ensuring this is paid back at the very latest by December 2017 although ideally we would like to get it paid back by December 2016.
If you are able to help or know someone who might be willing to help with this fundraising campaign they can give directly through https://www.gofundme.com/w7ymc69w
or they can send a check or cash to the P O Box. Thank you helping.
