The UAE94 trial six years on

On the 6th anniversary of the grossly unfair mass UAE 94 trial, the International Campaign for Freedom in the UAE remembers the serious and heinous violations of human rights and internationally recognised standards for free trials that marred the proceedings. 

On 27th January 2013, 94 prominent human rights lawyers, academics, student leaders and teachers were charged with founding, organising and administering an organisation aimed at overthrowing the government. Read more

Australia urged to halt arms exports to UAE and Saudi Arabia

Oxfam have called on the Australian authorities to stop arms exports to the UAE and Saudi Arabia over their involvement in “human rights violations and even war crimes in the conflict in Yemen.”

This follows a recent investigation published by ABC, documenting evidence of the UAE Armed Forces using an Australian-made weapons system in Yemen. The findings were based on photos sent to ABC anonymously showing the weapons systems awaiting export to the UAE at Sydney airport. Read more
