Dear friends,

Seed the Commons will soon participate in the largest Climate March in history.

We are part of a large coalition of organizations planning a People's Climate March prior to the Global Climate Action Summit, to demand people-led, real solutions to climate change. From September 8 to 14, San Francisco will be a hub of international activity as elected officials, UN officials, business and non-profit leaders, grassroots activists and others from around the world pour into our city for both events.

Animal agriculture is responsible for between 14.5% and 51% of greenhouse gas emissions–it is therefore shocking that agriculture is so often absent from the conversation. When it is touched upon, the conversation is dominated by those promoting tech-fixes on one side and animal-based farming on the other. Read our latest article about the growing trend of pro-ranching advocacy among environmentalists: A Call to Counter the False Solution of Regenerative Grazing.

It is urgent that we put agriculture on the table, that we reject the false solutions of tech fixes and animal-based farming alike, and that rebuild our food system based on agroecological plant-based farming.

At our event Veganic For Climate this Friday, we will speak of why and how to mobilize for veganic agriculture. The event will include a panel followed by a free reception with delicious vegan foods. Axiom Pizza will be dishing up vegan pizza on a donation basis to help raise funds for the campaign! Check out the presentations below and the full program here.
