JANUARY 2019

Happy New Year!

We are humbled by the generous support we’ve received from all of you over the course of 2018, and grateful and excited to be launching into 2019 with more opportunities to participate in the beautiful give and get of reciprocal community. Whether you’ve contributed by making a donation, volunteering your time and energy, attending events, or spreading the word about the Project, your contribution helps us collect and share Black women’s stories far and wide.

We want to send a special shout-out to our #100SistersStrong members for believing in us and providing financial support that makes this work possible. Donated funds support program development, website and social media management, and general operations. To learn more and join this special group of supporters, please click here.

  • Shared more than a dozen podcast episodes exploring topics that range from releasing guilt to which hairstyle to wear for a corporate meeting to becoming an entrepreneur.

  • Launched our e-newsletter campaign

  • Strengthened our internal volunteer and admin team

  • Received 501(c)(3) status, which means BlackFemaleProject is now an official nonprofit! (This also means that your donation is now tax-deductible directly through BlackFemaleProject.)

NEW YEAR,
NEW OPPORTUNITIES!

Here’s some of what we plan to get into this year:

  • Celebrating our 5th anniversary

  • Continuing to strengthen the BlackFemaleProject network so that you can make more personal and professional connections

  • Producing season 2 of our podcast, adding video with the support of a new producer

  • Releasing final inaugural collection stories

  • Sharing a report based on evaluation of our first three years

  • Hosting a roster of events focused on conversations/wellness, career skill development, and networking

WE NEED
YOUR SUPPORT!

In order to turn these exciting ideas into reality, we need our community’s support. Despite being a volunteer-run organization, we’ve been able to generate and circulate content that makes a positive impact on people’s experiences. With your help, we can increase our impact.
