"I Am the True Vine"
Lectionary art by Rev. Rebekah Krevens

This week's sermon:
"Vines that Bear Fruit"
John 15:1-8
Rev. Russ Boyd preaching

In this week's scripture, Jesus uses the metaphor of vines and branches bearing fruit to describe how a life rooted in God looks like. Come worship as we seek to bear fruit in our lives and our community!

Resettling a Refugee Family

We are about to have new neighbors!  A Congolese family of 7 will be arriving in Fort Worth next Friday, May 7.  Refugees are fully vetted, vaccinated, and very safe.  Here are some ways you can help us welcome them:

1) Help purchase or donate items for their new home
You can purchase on our Amazon Wish List: http://bit.ly/RidgleaWelcomes

Have good used items from this list to donate?  Let Allison know so we can mark it off and bring it to the church

All items must be to Ridglea by Wednesday May 5th

2) Donate for groceries

We want to stock their kitchen with comfort food that tastes like home.

Donate money at www.shelbygiving.com/Ridglea and put Refugees in the comments. We will use that money to buy groceries recommended by Refugee Services of Texas.

3) Welcome them at the airport

Their plane get's into DFW on Friday May 7th at 1 PM.  We want them to know, as soon as they arrive, how excited we are that they are our new neighbors.  If you want to wave welcome signs and be the first friendly American faces they meet, email allison@ridgleachristian.org. Folks from our partners at Refugee Services of Texas will be there too!

4) Apartment set up

Sometime on Thursday May 6th we will set up their new apartment so they can walk into a place that feels like home.  If you want to help make beds, stock the refrigerator, and add decorative touches email allison@ridgleachristian.org

Moving help for the Rike Family

Cameron, Lea & Nathan Rike are moving into a new place and need help with the move! If you can help on Saturday, May 8 at 2:00 pm contact Russ at russ@ridgleachristian.org. Rike family, we are so excited about your new home!

Youth Group for grades 3-12
Sunday at 4:00 pm

This week we will gather outdoors for snacks, games, and activities to help us think about what to do when we get really stressed and anxious! Where is God in the stress of life and how can God help us?  How do we do the next right thing God is calling us to when everything seems overwhelming? We will also, as always, play together and pray together.

We will also learn a new song for Youth Sunday so if you play guitar, bring it!

If you want to join in on zoom let Allison know before hand so we can set it up!
