This week's sermon:

"Measuring What Matters: Compassion"

Jeremiah 23:1-6

Rev. Russ Boyd preaching

It's Commitment Sunday, the time when we bring our pledges for the coming year and dedicate them for mission and ministry. As we prepare to do so this Sunday, we will reflect on the role of compassion in our generosity. How do we measure compassion, and how does our compassion shape how we use our gifts? Find out this week as we conclude our annual stewardship campaign.

Property Volunteer Workday

This Sunday, September 26 at 3:30 pm

It's almost time to FINALLY unload the storage pods and move furniture back into the offices, classrooms, nursery, and other places in the building that were affected by burst pipes back in February.

Whether you can carry things, re-assemble desks, sort items, or arrange a room - we need your help! Come to the church from 3:30 - 5:30 pm this Sunday afternoon, and let's work together to get everything set back up. We have youth group for 3rd grade and up and childcare for 2nd grade and under to ensure parents are able to help out with the effort.

We hope to see you this Sunday afternoon - and we hope to ensure those storage pods are gone before Sunday, October 3!

Stewardship Reflection #3

Watch Susan Turner share a story about how our church's compassion helped change a life, leading to a sense of gratitude and commitment to generosity. How can your gratitude be transformed into generosity, empowering you to share your gifts with and through the church?

This Sunday is Commitment Sunday - the end of our annual stewardship campaign when we consecrate our pledges for the coming year and celebrate God's generosity. After worship you're invited to a celebration lunch outside in the courtyard! For COVID safety all food will be pre-packaged or prepared and wrapped in advance by our Membership Committee while wearing masks and gloves.

If you're worshipping online this Sunday, you're encouraged to join the lunch via Zoom with the info below:

Mark your calendar for the Blessing of the Animals, a special outdoor worship service for people and pets! We will gather in the couryard on Sunday, October 2 at 5:00 pm for this youth-led service. Bring your pet or a picture of your pet to be blessed, and invite an animal lover in your life to join you for the service!

After hitting "pause" in March 2020 due to COVID, our weekly Tai Chi group has resumed meeting! The group meets every Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Worship & Wonder room for a seated Tai Chi session designed for senior adults. The side porch door provides a nearby entrance with a ramp for accessibility. If you would like to add some guided movement to your week, consider joining our Tai Chi group! No experience necessary, and the group collects donations to help offset the facility usage cost.
Throughout the pandemic our mission as a church has been to love God and love our neighbors in ways that keep each other safe. This has led us to learn how to be the church and worship in ways that we would have never imagined two years ago. We have learned that God is everywhere, and that nothing can stop us from sharing God's love!

Our Leadership Team met in late July to discuss updates to our current policies and precautions due to rising COVID numbers in our community. The group determined that while our current precautions are still appropriate, we should encourage people to carefully consider if participating in worship, classes, and meetings via our online options is a better choice - particularly for those who share a home or have regular close contact with individuals who are not vaccinated. To help everyone think through their options for participating in church life, we have put together a consolidated list of our current policies and precautions, as well as our online opportunities for participation.
