Just a quick announcement of three events of interest. Those follow below.
But, I first wanted to mention that of the ongoing things your support enables CRES to do is to give assitance to others — individuals and organizations who call us as they are planning interfaith events or struggling with religious questions. Thank you for allowing us to help with those efforts.
"When Even Evil Will Ordain the Good?"
Thursdays, March 5 - 26
6:00pm Dinner, 6:30pm Program
Episcopal Church of the Good Shepard
4947 NE Chouteau Drive, Kansas City, MO 64119
Again this year, I have accepted a gracious invitation to present a 4-part Lenten series. Although Lent is a Christian observance, as usual, I will draw upon religions of the world to illumine this sacred time, and non-Christians are most welcome to join members of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd for these four Thursday evening sessions. There are details and a downloadable 8-page study guide with images available here on the CRES website.
On April 20th, the Dialogue Institute of Kansas City will present its 15th Annual "Dialogue and Friendship Dinner" at UMKC. I always try to attend and was grateful to be presented with their "Public Service" Award in 2019. More information about this year's event is available here.
Finally, on May 24, I'll observe the 50th anniversary of my ordination. Have I learned anything in all that time? I am planning an event entitled: "From Aporia to Praise." There will be more details to come. But, from a half-century of experience and study, I'll attempt some answers to questions like -- How can one dare offer praise for the world's intertwined and perhaps inseparable mix of horror and beauty? What paths lie forward?
Again, thank you for your generosity and support.
