The 'Resource Fair' goes on the air!
Stacey Mason-Oakes of Spaulding for Children joins with Detroit radio host Monica Morgan this Saturday to discuss the coming Resource Fair. The program, "Monica Morgan Speaks," airs this Saturday, Aug. 7, from 4-6 p.m. on WFDF Radio 910 AM Superstation. The program also will live stream via Facebook.
Mrs. Mason-Oakes (pictured above, on the left) serves as a Resource Family Development and WWK (Wendy's Wonderful Kids) Supervisor. She joined the Agency in 2002.
Ms. Monica Morgan (on the right above) is the host of the Monica Morgan Speaks on WFDF Radio 910 AM Superstation. In addition to her weekly radio program, she is a noted photojournalist and motivational speaker who has traveled the world to research and interview her subjects.
In the Saturday, Aug. 7 radio broadcast, Ms. Morgan and Mrs. Mason-Oakes will discuss the Spaulding Resource Fair and detail the important resources and vital health services that will be available for families and children free of charge. We understand Mrs. Mason-Oakes will be interviewed from 5-5:20 p.m.
The Resource Fair will be held at The Corner Ballpark in Detroit in two weeks (Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021). Presented in partnership with Detroit PAL (Police Athletic League), the Spaulding Resource Fair is sponsored by BrassCraft, a MASCO Company.
Free and open to the public, the Spaulding Resource Fair will present a broad array of information, resources, and services for protecting health and improving the quality of life of families and children. The Resource Fair also is intended to inform the public and to raise awareness of the opportunities available at Spaulding. Most services and resources are provided on-site by community organizations and local businesses, free of charge.
Please note: The Spaulding Resource Fair takes place Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The resource fair will be held at Detroit PAL's facility at The Corner Ballpark, site of the old Tiger Stadium, located at 1680 Michigan Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, 48216.
The Judson Center will offer COVID-19 vaccinations to eligible people at the event through their mobile vaccination unit. Ascension Healthcare will provide blood pressure and glucose monitoring, plus height-weight-Body Mass Index measurements to serve those who may be suffering from diabetes and other serious medical conditions.

The Resource Fair also offers interesting and fun activities to children and families. Those who attend will be eligible for a number of “Giveaways for Back-to-School,” Raffle Baskets, and door prizes.
