Thanks to your frequent "clicks" in SkillPort, CSUMB was the 2016 SkillPort Challenge winner. This means the cost to provide SkillPort to our campus was covered in full for the 2016 fiscal year--a $5000 savings! The 2017 SkillPort Challenge has already begun. Watch the Dashboard for suggested training, and don't forget to stay current on your required courses!

Workplace Walk-off Challenge

The Workplace Walk-off Challenge (WWC) kicked off on March 13th with a whopping 216 participants registered, about 21% of our employee population! During this six-week wellness event, members of 32 different WWC teams will log their total steps for each week. The team with the highest average number of steps will win the Golden Shoe trophy--along with well-deserved bragging rights! This year, a sustainability effort has been introduced for the first time. Walk with A(nother) Purpose challenges WWC participants to collect litter as they collect steps around campus. Prizes will be awarded to the team that picks up the most litter and to the team that collects the smallest piece of litter. Many thanks to all the participants for going the distance toward a healthy lifestyle and a beautiful campus!
Fun fact: 70,000 steps a week meets the recommendation of at least 10,000 steps per day to help prevent illness/disease.

The 2017 Staff & Faculty Appreciation Breakfast / Service Awards was held in the University Center Ballroom on January 19th. We had 258 members of our campus community in attendance and 97 participants for the Campus Conversation, which centered on the topics of inclusion, sustainable growth, and student success. This year, we celebrated:
44 employees at the 5-year mark,
53 employees at the 10-year mark,
25 employees at the 15-year mark, and
29 employees at the 20-year mark!
Thank you to all staff and faculty for your days, months, and years of dedication & service!
