Dear ICOLPH School Families,

I want to start with a huge THANK YOU to all the families who attended the 2019 Spring Gala Dinner and Auction. It was such a wonderful night full of laughs, community and a little bit of music (“Sweet Caroline…bah, bah, buah”).  I am thrilled to say that it is looking to be a big success! The fund-a-need is supporting our classrooms including new whiteboards, tables and blinds. Thank you to all who donated and for supporting our students!!

Our accreditation visit is finally here. Our visiting team has been observing in classrooms and talking with students, staff and parish administrators. It is wonderful being able to show off our incredible students and school community! They will be with us through tomorrow, so please introduce yourself if you see them.

Re-enrollment is underway! Remember, for your re-enrollment to be complete, you must complete all paperwork and turn it in to the school office with your tuition deposit. You must also go on ParentsWeb and enroll in FACTS Tuition Management. Directions for this was included in your enrollment packet, but if you have any problems please don’t hesitate to contact us—we’re happy to help! Please complete your re-enrollment by Monday, March 18th. At that time we will open enrollment to new families.

Annual Gift Campaign UPDATE- As you know, our Annual Gift Campaign is underway. Currently we have raised $27,500, which is great, but still a long way from our goal of $65,000. A big THANK YOU to all the school families who have made a donation to the AGC so far:

Thank you for your support of this important fundraiser!

Mr. Blacker's Favorite Bible Verse: Mark 10:25

It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.

"Jesus reminds us that earthly riches can often blind us to our spiritual poverty and makes us less humble to God. Using hyperbole, he cautions us of the dangers of viewing one's wealth as a sign of God's approval."
- Mr. Blacker
Short Event Description:

“In the past 10 years, there has been increasing recognition of anxiety in young people by health care providers, including a 17% increase in anxiety disorder diagnosis. At some point, anxiety affects 30% of children and adolescents, yet 80% never get help.” - Child Mind Institute

On March 18th, Archbishop Murphy High School will be hosting a screening of “Angst,” a film documenting personal experiences with anxiety, interviews with Mental Health Professionals and how to reach out for help. Our hope is to provide a evening where families can become more informed about the daily experiences of youths, access necessary resources to aid in building positive coping skills and empower families to continue the conversation about mental health at home.

Community Screening of "Angst"

When: Monday, March 18th

Doors open at 6:30 PM, Screening begins at 7:00 PM

Where: AMHS Gym

*There is no cost to attend the event.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, let us set out with trust on our Lenten journey, sustained by fervent prayer, penance and concern for those in need.

Pope St. John Paul II

Please consider offering up these prayers daily. We invite all students and their families to send prayer requests to Elisa Whitehouse via email,, or bring them to school and drop them off at the office.

During Lent, let us pray in quiet remembrance our need for redemption, and to our Lord ask for the humility to combat sin. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.

We remember our loved ones who have died and keep the hope that they are enjoying eternal life with Jesus and the saints. We pray especially for Lucas Keator, Barbara and Joseph Greene, Kathleen Turcotte, Drew Lenz, Jake Amancio and all those on our parish prayer lines. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.

For all our students’ family members who serve in the military, that God keeps them safe and bound to Him despite any danger or hardships. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.

Pope Francis’ March intention for the Recognition of the Right of Christian Communties: That Christian communities, especially those who are persecuted, feel that they are close to Christ and have their rights respected, we pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.

For all grade school, high school and college students and athletes, that their academics stay strong and their bodies healthy as the school year progresses. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.

We give thanks to God for all our wonderful school friends and our dedicated school staff. May we see His face in each of theirs every day. We pray to the Lord.  Lord, hear our prayer.

Let us pray for all those who need prayers and have no one to pray for them. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.

For all our loved ones who are sick and suffering, may they find healing and relief in Jesus. We pray especially for Michael, Elizabeth, Mike, Liam, Joan, Nuria Regan-Bone’s mother and all those on our parish prayer lines. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.

For all our friends and family who are struggling with sadness, anger and anxiety, and that we will reach out to be lights in the darkness for them. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.

Let us thank God for all the new opportunities and second chances He gives us each day. May we gratefully accept them and use them! We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.

We are so thankful for our families. May we show our gratitude for them regularly and be sure they know our love for them. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.

May the call of vocations bring an increase in priests and religious. We pray and are grateful especially for our fellow parishioners Duane Schireman and Chris Shambro, who are in the Archdiocese Diaconate Program. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.

For those who think their sins are unforgivable, may they turn to God with trust in His loving mercy. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.

May God protect the people who dedicate their lives protecting the innocent. We pray especially for those in the armed forces, government leaders, pro-life volunteers, school staff, and all parents and guardians. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.

For all those who are experiencing spiritual doubt and separation, that Jesus calls them back home to the Church where we await them with love. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.

With confidence in our Heavenly Father, we pray that He will guide all those who are facing difficult decisions and are confused or afraid. May they see the benefit of placing their trust in Him as they journey through this life. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.

For our religious leaders, may God’s blessing and strength be with them. We pray especially for Fr. Joseph, Fr. Francis, Deacon Kelly and all our generous visiting priests. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.

Jesus knows all our secrets and all our hearts’ desires. Let us offer up our prayers of needs and wants to Him. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.
