Call Committee Progress:

This week has been a quiet one for the Call Committee. We are waiting until next week to hold a preliminary on-site interview with one of the pastoral candidates that we have interacted with. This is an especially important time to keep the Call Committee and our pastoral candidate in your prayers.

As usual, keep watching the Proclaimer for updates or ask committee members about our progress.

An Invitation to Centering Prayer During Adult Education Hour on Sunday, November 17th
Pastor DanaLee Simon will be with us on November 17 and December 15 to help lead worship. She most recently served at Elim Lutheran in Ogden and has spent the last several years becoming trained as a certified spiritual director and practicing ministry in that area. Along with leading worship, she is offering a Centering Prayer workshop and practice during the education hour. Centering Prayer is a practice that brings you into God’s presence and will be a wonderful accompaniment to our faith journeys, especially as we enter this busy time of year.

November 17 - come learn the steps/practice of Centering Prayer and engage in a 20 minute sit together. Be encouraged to engage this practice in your own life over the coming month.

December 15 - come share about your  experiences of Centering Prayer over the past month. What worked?  What was difficult about it?  Engage in another 20 minute sit together.

Please mark your calendar; plan to join us; learn another aspect of our faith journey!
RMS Youth Gathering Jan. 18-20 2020
Young adults are needed from campus and outdoor ministries to assist with the Rocky Mountain Synod Youth Gathering at Estes Park, January 18th-20, 2020 as volunteers. The lodging and food will be covered by the event, but the work will be volunteer.

The young adults will be asked to co-lead a small group reflection time of about 10 students, assist in a workshop (camps with team building and campus ministries TBD), and help with other event-related activities.

On behalf of the planning committee and the Synod Youth Council, we appreciate any support you can provide! We are hoping to have a total of 6 volunteers to form the campus ministriesIf you know of any students that you think would be interested or awesome role models for middle and high schoolers, please let me know as soon as possible. This opportunity will be available on a first come first serve basis.

Bringing Prince of Peace to Local Nursing Homes- December 8, 2019
Prince of Peace has long participated with several other non-LDS local churches in a rotation that brings informal worship services to local nursing homes.  Services are offered at 3:00 p.m. at Williamsburg Retirement Community and at 4:00 p.m. at either Terrace Grove or Sunshine Terrace. The residents who attend (usually 2 or 3 at most) express great appreciation for these times of singing, reading scripture, and praying together.  Even though Prince of Peace is currently without a pastor, we still participate when it is our turn. Please join us Sunday afternoon, December 8, 2019. No experience necessary, your presence is the best gift. Talk to Mary Feldman if you would like to know more.
Loaves and Fishes have about 6 openings in 2020. Contact Bobbie Crabtree at If you are interested in helping out.
CAPSA's Christmas Wrapping Booth Fundraiser, December 15th,12-5 p.m.
Prince of Peace will once again be part of CAPSA's Christmas Wrapping Booth fundraiser at Cache Valley Mall. A CAPSA volunteer will be in attendance whenever the booth is open to answer questions regarding CAPSA services and to assist would-be clients.  Our responsibility will only be to box and wrap for customers.

We have committed to be there on Sunday, December 15 from 12 to 5 p.m. We will need 2 or 3 volunteers present during those times.  I will be there all day and hope some of you will join me for an hour or two. No experience needed!  Let me know if you would like to help and what time/times are convenient for you.
