Call Committee Progress:

This week the Call Committee held a second, lengthy interview with our third pastoral candidate. This was a productive interview with the candidate also asking lots of questions about our congregation. Our next step will be to decide whether to bring this person in for a site visit.

We will keep updating everyone with notes in the Proclaimer. As always, don’t hesitate to ask any committee member about our progress.

Reformation Sunday, October 27th:
We are celebrating Reformation Sunday on October 27th at 9:30 a.m. at PoP. Please wear RED. Catherine Tobey will preside over worship and communion. Please join us as we celebrate the heart of our faith: the gospel of Christ-the good news-that makes us free!
This Sunday we are pleased to welcome Rev. Catherine Tobey as she leads us in worship and communion.  The following provides a bit of her background. We hope everyone will join us and welcome her.

Rev. Catherine Tobey was born and raised in Ogden, but she visited to 37 countries by age 26. On many of these trips, she spent one week to four months serving alongside missionaries and developed a deep passion for holistic service and Christian ministry. After earning degrees in Theology and Spanish from Whitworth University, she went on to Princeton Theological Seminary for an MDiv and to be trained at a church plant in urban Philadelphia. Upon returning home, she became highly involved in the local conversation around meeting community needs. An ordained Presbyterian minister, she serves as an administrator at a Christian school, chaplain at a hospital, and partner with her husband in Arcadia Guided Outdoor Education.

Over 30 students from eight universities attended. After the retreat we met up with the Sarah and Sebastian Los for church, lunch, and sightseeing. Sarah and Sebastian are doing well and say hello to everyone back at Prince of Peace!

Bringing Prince of Peace to Local Nursing Homes- December 8, 2019
Prince of Peace has long participated with several other non-LDS local churches in a rotation that brings informal worship services to local nursing homes.  Services are offered at 3:00 p.m. at Williamsburg Retirement Community and at 4:00 p.m. at either Terrace Grove or Sunshine Terrace. The residents who attend (usually 2 or 3 at most) express great appreciation for these times of singing, reading scripture, and praying together.  Even though Prince of Peace is currently without a pastor, we still participate when it is our turn. Please join us Sunday afternoon, December 8, 2019. No experience necessary, your presence is the best gift. Talk to Mary Feldman if you would like to know more.
Remember to 'fall back' next Saturday night - Daylight Savings is Nov. 3rd; we move our clocks back an hour!
