Call Committee Progress:

Our call process has taken longer than expected. By now, some of our members are no doubt wondering what's up.

When the Call Committee began its work last summer, we learned that over 40 churches in our synod were calling a pastor, apparently due to lots of clergy reaching retirement age. That amounts to around 25% of the congregations in our synod and there is a shortage of available pastors to fill the need right now.

The Call Committee is moving ahead with interviews just as fast as candidates are found. By now, we have interviewed (and released) two candidates and we are planning another conversation with a third candidate. We are also hoping to receive additional names from the Bishop's office.

Keep watching for updates in the Proclaimer and feel free to ask members of the committee about our progress.

Reformation Sunday, October 27th:

Lutheran Campus Ministry News:
This past weekend Prince of Peace's LCM joined campus ministry groups from across the Rocky Mountain Synod in Albuquerque for the balloon fiesta, afternoon activities, evening worship, and fellowship. Over 30 students from eight universities attended. After the retreat we met up with the Sarah and Sebastian Los for church, lunch, and sightseeing. Sarah and Sebastian are doing well and say hello to everyone back at Prince of Peace! We will share more about our experiences and takeaways during worship on October 20th.

Our next event will be a joint dinner with First Presbyterian's campus ministry group on Sunday, October 27th. Members should keep an eye on their email inboxes for details and RSVP information.
Check out the official PoP website! Changes are being made daily, and feedback is welcome! Feel free to send me any suggestions:
