Church Council News:
Hi everyone! Two important events are coming up the next two Sundays:

January 12: The pastoral candidate selected by Call Committee, Pastor Emily Kuenker, will be in Logan to meet the congregation. You'll have two opportunities to visit with Pastor Emily: the first is during fellowship immediately after the worship service and the second is at 7 p.m. at Kristi and Jon Grussendorf's house (1785 E. 1815 N., North Logan, UT), where we'll enjoy cookies and coffee. Be sure to introduce yourself to Pastor Emily and help her feel welcome!
January 19: If you're a member of Prince of Peace, please plan to stay after worship on Jan. 19 for a special meeting. In this meeting, we will vote on whether to 1) officially call Pastor Emily Kuenker to become our full-time minister and 2) approve the compensation package put together by Council and agreed to by Pastor Emily. A quorum of the membership must be present for us to vote on these important items, so please plan to attend the meeting. We need you!

See the letter below with more details about Pastor Emily Kuenker and the two events mentioned above:

Acts 10:34-43
Matthew 3:13-17
Lutheran Campus Ministry:
We will meet for snowshoeing at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 9 (location TBD that morning), followed by dinner at Karin's place. Text or talk to Karin for further details: 435-760-5350

The 10th Annual Martin Luther King Interfaith Service is sponsored by Cache Community Connections and will be held at the Logan Tabernacle this Friday, January 10, at 7 p.m. All are welcome!

Holden Village Trip: Feb. 29 - Mar. 7
Four people from PoP have already made arrangements to travel to Holden Village again. This video of Holden in winter gives an accurate impression of what it's like there in March.  It is not too late to sign up and join us! If you want to go, you will need to do 3 things pretty soon - like today or tomorrow (!!!):
  1. book a room at Holden Village for yourself for Mar 2 - 6
  2. book the ferry from Fields Point to Lucerne on Mar 2 and back from Lucerne to Fields Point on Mar 6
  3. room at Holden Bed & Breakfast (which is "downlake", as opposed to the Village itself, which is "uplake") for Sunday Mar 1.  The B&B is a huge chalet with many bedrooms, shared bathrooms and a shared kitchen. You can email Roberta, the host at the B&B, at to ask for a room
Talk to Karin deJonge-Kannan about carpooling.  If you are a USU student, all expenses for the entire trip will be reimbursed.
Check out the official PoP website! Changes are being made daily, and feedback is welcome! Feel free to send me any suggestions:
