She says: "I have served at Good Shepherd Lutheran and Our Savior's Lutheran, and

My husband and I left the Salt Lake Valley and served together at a three- point parish in Eastern Montana for twelve years. Yes, I wrestled cattle and drove in the demolition derby…all new to me!
Upon returning to Utah, Bruce took the calls above and I somewhat retired. I serve on the Rocky Mountain Synod Council and supply preach regularly in-between grandchildren fun.
Thank-you for inviting me to worship with you!"

A Message From Your Worship Ministry Team
All Saints' Sunday, November 3rd:
If you have someone you want to remember on this day, please send their name to poplogan3@gmail.com. We will read names during worship this Sunday, November 3rd.

We will also be welcoming Rev. Reba Kiger-Kolasch who will preside over worship and communion.

Call Committee Progress:

Last week, the Call Committee held a second, lengthy interview with our third pastoral candidate. This was a productive interview with the candidate also asking lots of questions about our congregation. Our next step will be to decide whether to bring this person in for a site visit.

We will keep updating everyone with notes in the Proclaimer. As always, don’t hesitate to ask any committee member about our progress.

Adult Education Sunday Hour
Because people come and go and are not there every Sunday, we will study the weekly lectionary texts in more depth as a way to supplement our faith formation.  We will discuss the following texts:

Psalm 149
Ephesians 1:11-23
Luke 6: 20-31

2 Thessalonians 1: 1-4, 11-12

UPCOMING EVENTS

An Invitation to Centering Prayer During Adult Education Hour on Sunday, November 17th
Pastor DanaLee Simon will be with us on November 17 and December 15 to help lead worship. She most recently served at Elim Lutheran in Ogden and has spent the last several years becoming trained as a certified spiritual director and practicing ministry in that area. Along with leading worship, she is offering a Centering Prayer workshop and practice during the education hour. Centering Prayer is a practice that brings you into God’s presence and will be a wonderful accompaniment to our faith journeys, especially as we enter this busy time of year.

November 17 - come learn the steps/practice of Centering Prayer and engage in a 20 minute sit together. Be encouraged to engage this practice in your own life over the coming month.

December 15 - come share about your  experiences of Centering Prayer over the past month. What worked?  What was difficult about it?  Engage in another 20 minute sit together.

Please mark your calendar; plan to join us; learn another aspect of our faith journey!

November is Faith Exchange Welcome Weeks!
This is an opportunity to invite people of other faiths to our service and also for you to visit services of other denominations.

Check out the official proclamation here!

Dementia Dialogues 4 Wednesdays (10/30-11/20) from 3:30-5:00 p.m.
Dementia Dialogues is a 4-session basic training course designed to educate individuals who care for persons with Alzheimer's disease or related dementias.
Bringing Prince of Peace to Local Nursing Homes- December 8, 2019
Prince of Peace has long participated with several other non-LDS local churches in a rotation that brings informal worship services to local nursing homes.  Services are offered at 3:00 p.m. at Williamsburg Retirement Community and at 4:00 p.m. at either Terrace Grove or Sunshine Terrace. The residents who attend (usually 2 or 3 at most) express great appreciation for these times of singing, reading scripture, and praying together.  Even though Prince of Peace is currently without a pastor, we still participate when it is our turn. Please join us Sunday afternoon, December 8, 2019. No experience necessary, your presence is the best gift. Talk to Mary Feldman if you would like to know more.
Loaves and Fishes have about 6 openings in 2020. Contact Bobbie Crabtree at bobbie.crabtree@usu.edu If you are interested in helping out.
CAPSA's Christmas Wrapping Booth Fundraiser, December 15th,12-5 p.m.
Prince of Peace will once again be part of CAPSA's Christmas Wrapping Booth fundraiser at Cache Valley Mall. A CAPSA volunteer will be in attendance whenever the booth is open to answer questions regarding CAPSA services and to assist would-be clients.  Our responsibility will only be to box and wrap for customers.

We have committed to be there on Sunday, December 15 from 12 to 5 p.m. We will need 2 or 3 volunteers present during those times.  I will be there all day and hope some of you will join me for an hour or two. No experience needed!  Let me know if you would like to help and what time/times are convenient for you.
