ANNOUNCEMENTS

FOUND: Accompanist for PoP! We are pleased to welcome Darren Cole as our new accompanist. His experience includes 10+ years of piano, drums and percussion, and over 3 years of arranging choral, symphony and band music. Darren works full time, and lives with his wife, two-year old child (and baby due in March) in Hyrum. Darren officially starts on March 1st.

The Souper Bowl on February 2nd was a success! We gathered $778.00 in cash and checks, and the total food value was approximately $900.00. All donations will go to the Cache Community Food Pantry. Thanks to all who participated!

Lutheran Campus Ministry:
We will meet for snowshoeing at 2 p.m. this Sunday, February 9 (location TBD that morning), followed by dinner at Karin's place. Text or talk to Karin for further details: 435-760-5350

Please join us next Sunday, February 16th, as we welcome back Pastor DanaLee Simon to preside over worship and communion.

Pastor Simon most recently served at Elim Lutheran in Ogden and has spent the last several years becoming trained as a certified spiritual director and practicing ministry in that area.

During Christmas there was a green/red/blue/tan runner on the Fellowship table. If anyone has this, please return it to church. It was on loan and needs to be returned to the owner. Just leave it in the church kitchen on the counter by the microwave.

Thank you!

UPCOMING EVENTS

Church Council News:
A couple of weeks ago, Prince of Peace voted unanimously to call Pastor Emily Kuenker to be our new full-time pastor, so we have several exciting events on the horizon:

Installation: Here at Prince of Peace on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 3 p.m. Bishop Gonia will conduct Pastor Emily's installation service. A reception will be held immediately following the service. We will be needing potluck dishes, so Please see Kathy Evans at church for the sign-up sheet if you can bring a dish to share.
Starting Date: Pastor Emily's first day as our pastor will be the day after her installation: Sunday, Feb. 23. Please plan to attend worship that day and welcome her!

Rental House: Pastor Emily could use our help in finding a rental house. If you know of a house for rent, please email Pastor Emily at pastoremily.princeofpeace@gmail.com. She has no roommates and no pets.
Join us for a special, Ash Wednesday service at 7 p.m. on February 26th at St. John's Episcopal Church.
Holden Village Trip: Feb. 29 - Mar. 7
Four people from PoP have already made arrangements to travel to Holden Village again. This video of Holden in winter gives an accurate impression of what it's like there in March.  It is not too late to sign up and join us! If you want to go, you will need to do 3 things pretty soon - like today or tomorrow (!!!):
  1. book a room at Holden Village for yourself for Mar 2 - 6  https://www.reseze.net/servlet/SendPage?hotelid=1523&skipfirstpage=true&page=booking
  2. book the ferry from Fields Point to Lucerne on Mar 2 and back from Lucerne to Fields Point on Mar 6   https://ladyofthelake.com/ticket-request-form/
  3. room at Holden Bed & Breakfast (which is "downlake", as opposed to the Village itself, which is "uplake") for Sunday Mar 1.  The B&B is a huge chalet with many bedrooms, shared bathrooms and a shared kitchen. You can email Roberta, the host at the B&B, at bandb@holdenvillage.org to ask for a room
Talk to Karin deJonge-Kannan about carpooling.  If you are a USU student, all expenses for the entire trip will be reimbursed.
