This Sunday, December 8th, we are pleased to be welcoming Rev. Sarah Moening, Assistant to the Bishop for Congregational Life, as she will provide worship and communion. Rev. Moening's duties include Transitions (Call Process, Interim Ministry), First Call Theological Education, Leadership Development, and Healthy Congregations. We hope everyone will join us and welcome her on this special Sunday. All are welcome!

Your Worship Ministry Team
PoP needs individuals or families to read a prayer (provided) & light the candles on the advent wreath on the following Sundays: 12/8, 12/22. The signup sheet is on the bulletin board in the hall.
This Sunday is Commitment/Statement of Intent Sunday! We hope everyone can be there for this special occasion - to express our generosity and gratitude for all which God has provided.

Over the past three weeks, you've heard about our three Ministry Initiatives - Enhancing Our Image, Caring for the Earth, and Supporting Our Community. Our goal of $12,000 ($231/week) will fund these initiatives - $2,000 ($38/week), $7,000 ($134/week) & $3,000 ($57/week), respectively. Through your generosity, we will be able to realize our goal and be able to invest in these initiatives.

This week, we mailed a letter, brochure, and Statement of Intent with an envelope to each household. Carefully read through it, pray about it, and fill out the Statement of Intent. Bring it with you on Sunday; during worship, we will have a special time to bring it to the altar. If you can't be there Sunday, please mail it to the church office.

With commitments from Church Council members and the Stewardship Team, plus donations, our total to date is $5,885 - almost half of our goal!! With your generosity, we can meet, and even exceed our goal of $12,000 ($231/week)!

Remember, we are "GIFTED to Share God's Grace in the World" ... "Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received." 1 Peter 4:10.

Your Stewardship Team - Sandra, Dave K., Jon, Tony & Joan

Call Committee Progress:
This week we will interview a new candidate. Before Thanksgiving, we had interviewed a very promising candidate and thought we were almost done when an unexpected candidate was sent to us. We’ve decided to explore whether this candidate is a potential match for PoP.

As always, keep your eye on the Proclaimer for updates and keep the Call Committee and our candidates in your prayers.

Save the date for our December fellowship dinner! - Sunday, December 8th. Details to follow.

Bringing Prince of Peace to Local Nursing Homes- December 8, 2019
Prince of Peace has long participated with several other non-LDS local churches in a rotation that brings informal worship services to local nursing homes.  Services are offered at 3:00 p.m. at Williamsburg Retirement Community and at 4:00 p.m. at either Terrace Grove or Sunshine Terrace. The residents who attend (usually 2 or 3 at most) express great appreciation for these times of singing, reading scripture, and praying together.  Even though Prince of Peace is currently without a pastor, we still participate when it is our turn. Please join us Sunday afternoon, December 8, 2019. No experience necessary, your presence is the best gift. Talk to Mary Feldman if you would like to know more.
CAPSA's Christmas Wrapping Booth Fundraiser, December 15th,12-5 p.m.
Prince of Peace will once again be part of CAPSA's Christmas Wrapping Booth fundraiser at Cache Valley Mall. A CAPSA volunteer will be in attendance whenever the booth is open to answer questions regarding CAPSA services and to assist would-be clients.  Our responsibility will only be to box and wrap for customers.

We have committed to be there on Sunday, December 15 from 12 to 5 p.m. We will need 2 or 3 volunteers present during those times.  I will be there all day and hope some of you will join me for an hour or two. No experience needed!  Let me know if you would like to help and what time/times are convenient for you.
