ANNOUNCEMENTS

This Sunday, December 15th, we are pleased to welcome back Pastor DanaLee Simon as she will lead worship and provide a follow-up worship on "Centering Prayer."

Pastor Simon
most recently served at Elim Lutheran in Ogden and has spent the last several years becoming trained as a certified spiritual director and practicing ministry in that area. Along with leading worship, she is offering a follow-up Centering Prayer workshop and practice during the education hour.

STEWARDSHIP FOR ALL SEASONS (SAS)
"GIFTED to Share God's Grace in the World 2020" is off to a great start because of YOU!!! Last Sunday you made known your intention for giving in the coming year. We had 60% participation, including generous donations, and are now at $8,000 which is 2/3 of our goal of $12,000!!! This is awesome!!

We have not heard from everyone, so, if you haven't sent in your Statement of Intent, it's not too late - you can bring it to church Sunday or mail it to the church office. The SAS Team will be making follow up calls in the coming week to those from whom we've not heard.

We appreciate everyone's generous support in helping PoP fulfill our three  Ministry Initiatives - Enhancing Our Image, Caring for the Earth, and Supporting the Community. Thank you for being a vital part of the ministry at Prince of Peace.

Your SAS Team

Call Committee Progress:
This week we finally made a decision about which of two excellent candidates to go forward with. The candidate that we chose has indicated her willingness to accept a call at Prince of Peace. This is very good news after such a long call process!

The next steps will be for Council to work with the candidate on specific details of the call and then arrange a special meeting of the entire congregation to meet with and vote on the candidate.

As we move towards the final steps of this call, continue to keep our candidate and church Council in your prayers.

Adult Education Sunday Hour
Because people come and go and are not there every Sunday, we will study the weekly lectionary texts in more depth as a way to supplement our faith formation.  We will discuss the following texts:

(12/15)
Isaiah 35:1-10
Psalm 146:5-10 (8)
or Luke 1:46b-55 (47)
James 5:7-10
Matthew 11:2-11
NO CHOIR PRACTICE UNTIL JANUARY!
Check out the official PoP website! Changes are being made daily, and feedback is welcome! Feel free to send me any suggestions: karadbradford@gmail.com
