Children with and without nystagmus, aged 5 to 14, are invited to take part in the Raindrops children's story writing and drawing competition for Nystagmus Awareness Day 2021. The closing date is 19 June. Please encourage your children or grandchildren to take part. There are some fabulous prizes.
Welly Walk for Raindrops
Everyone is invited to take to take part in 5k sponsored Welly Walk, wearing their wellies, on 19 or 20 June 2021 in support of Raindrops and Nystagmus Awareness Day.
Meet an author
We will be running a series of interactive online workshops with well known children's authors for children aged 7 and up. Tim Pearce, author of Secret Agent Striker will be joining us on 10 May engaging with budding authors and story writers. Raindrops photography competition
The Raindrops photographic competition is open to adults with nystagmus or other visual impairment. Entries will feature in a virtual online gallery and a physical exhibition at Open Day in September. There will prizes for the winners.
VIEW Conference 2021
Sue provided a pre-recorded presentation on nystagmus in the classroom and an exhibition pop up about Raindrops for the virtual VIEW conference. Her presentation was well received by delegates (the national QTVI team) and generated a good deal of debate on such topics as exams arrangements, work sampling and mitigating against potentially disruptive behaviour.

Tracks of my life
Joanne Roughton-Arnold, co-founder of the FormidAbility Opera company and our Open Day 2020 and 2021 guest speaker, appeared on RNIB radio to talk about her favourite music.
Sue chaired a progress update meeting of the Nystagmus UK Research Group (NUKE) planning next steps for the publication of the Nystagmus Care Pathway as 'practice points'.
Day of Reflection
We invited supporters to join us in a minute’s silence at midday on 23 March in remembrance of those who have been lost during the pandemic.
AN and Oscillopsia Forum
Sue and Ian hosted the March online forum for members of the Acquired Nystagmus and Oscillopsia support group with the theme 'building resilience'.
Euro Low Vision 2021
We shared news of the Euro Low vision song contest, hosted by our friends at Look UK.
Virtual London Marathon
Runners were invited to apply for one of three free places in the virtual Virgin Money London Marathon on 3 October 2021.
