The Principality Stadium, Cardiff

Join us in the Millennium Lounge for the most inspirational talks and presentations and meet up with adults, parents, children and young people affected by nystagmus over lunch on the Riverside Terrace.

Ben to headline at Open Day


Vision impaired singer songwriter, Ben Haynes, will be our headline speaker at the Nystagmus Network Open Day 2019 on Saturday 28 September.

Meet Ben. Hear him talk about his early days as a young person with nystagmus, playing drums in the garage until his big break into music.

Ben will also perform a live acoustic set for us.

Introducing Daniel, our keynote speaker


Daniel Williams is the founder of Visualise Training and Consultancy, a company which delivers sight loss awareness to employers.

Daniel, who is gradually losing his own sight due to Retinitis Pigmentosa, says:

"I am passionate about disability rights and making mainstream services accessible to all, enabling people with disabilities to be as independent as possible."

Meet Nadine at Open day

Nadine Neckles is the author of the 2019 book 'Can I tell you about Nystagmus?'.

Amber, the leading character in Nadine's book, was inspired by her daughter, who has nystagmus.

At Open Day Nadine will be there to chat with parents and share experiences of parenting a child with impaired vision.

She will also be signing copies of her book. If you've already purchased a copy, bring it along. Or you can buy a copy on the day.

Free Open Day places for all members

Nystagmus Network members receive a free place at Open Day as part of their membership package.

Priority booking, for members only, will open soon. Members will be notified by email or letter.

Any remaining tickets, once member tickets have been allocated, will go on general sale a month or so later.

Annual membership of the Nystagmus Network is currently just £20, due to rise to £25 on 1 April.
Open Day tickets are expected to be priced at £32.

parkrun for Nystagmus Awareness Day
 

This year for Nystagmus Awareness Day and 'Wobbly Week' the Nystagmus Network is joining forces with parkrun to offer you the opportunity to get out into your local park and walk or run for nystagmus awareness.

Around 40 people completed the 4 or 14 mile Eye to Eye walk for nystagmus research on Sunday 10 March. Huge congratulations and thanks go to everyone who took part. We're still adding up the final figures, but so far together you've raised a massive £7,600 for nystagmus research!
