Primary

Word from the Primary Head

Welcome (back)! I have to let you know how delighted we are to see/ meet your children on this first day of school 2019-2020.

Welcome to you as parents (and CM2 students!) reading this weekly memo.

The weekly memo is the main communication tool between the French Section team and FS parents - you should consider it your homework every Monday to read it! Reading the memo is one of the three things we ask of parents from the start of the year.

1 - Make a note of everything that concerns your children in the weekly memo in your diary/ family planner/ fridge calendar, so as to be sure not to forget anything.

2 - Do your best to leave home early in the morning, so as to be on time for school. (The school doors are open from 7:30am)

3 - If you’re packing a snack for your child, make it a healthy one and cut down on single use wrapping please!

Have an excellent back to school and a nice week!

Ms Carine Capel

PS-CM2 Parent Information Meetings

The information meetings per year group are taking place next week from Monday 26th August to Monday 2nd September, please see below for exact dates, times and places. It is absolutely crucial that parents attend the meetings for their children’s classes. During the information meetings, class teachers will explain the functioning of the class for the year. Attending the meetings and following the teachers' advice will put you in the best possible position to support your child during the coming school year.

CP-CM2 Unaccompanied Leavers

If you would like to authorise your child to leave the school campus at the end of the school day unaccompanied, please complete an authorisation form (available here). Authorisations completed in 2018-2019 must be renewed for 2019-2020.

Please note that signing an authorisation for a child to leave the campus unaccompanied at 3:15pm does not give children permission to stay on campus unaccompanied after 3:15pm - they must leave!

Label everything

We’ve already said it a million times, but we need to say it again. Please make sure your child’s possessions (in particular lunchboxes, waterbottles and snack boxes) are labelled with their names and their class. That way, we can return them to the rightful owner when (not if) they go astray!

Lunchboxes/ No canteen lunch order for August

If you have forgotten to order lunch for August for your child, you have two options available to you:

  1. Prepare a packed lunch

  2. Your child can line up and order lunch in person daily.

Whatever option you decide on, please make sure your child knows what the lunch plan is.

If children are bringing a lunchbox to school these must be put in the canteen at the start of the school day. It is best for the children to do it themselves, so they know where to look for it. Lunches to be heated go in the fridge, cold lunches are stored on the shelves. For more information, please see the parent guide. Again, please make sure that all lunchboxes and lunch bags are labelled.

If a child cannot find their lunchbox, they will order a canteen meal and parents will be billed for the lunch by the Educational Services Department.
