A message from the primary head

The Maths Kangaroo contest is one of French students’ (and teachers’) favourite math competitions at a primary, collège and lycée level. It was launched in 1991 and is based on an Australian Maths competition, hence the name. The contest takes place every year in March, when more than 6 million children answer the same questions in 790 different countries around the world. There are 24 multiple choice questions of growing difficulty.

The Kangaroo contest is open to all children, whatever their level of Maths and enables the strongest students to compare their maths skills with students all over the world.

Here are the world rankings for 2019.
CE2: 29,053 classes took part. Our highest ranking student came in at number 313.
CM1: 33,810 classes took part. Our highest ranking student came in at number 88.
CM2: 35,914 classes took part. Our highest ranking student came in at number 1,307.

Well done to all participants. The prizes are coming soon!

Ms. Carine Capel
