 Week 38
Week 38
Welcome to the last weekly memo of the school year 2018-2019. Look out for the pre-back to school memo arriving in your inbox on 12 August 2019. Have a nice week!

A message from the primary head

A big thank you went out to our learning assistants during last week’s show. They take part in every moment of our students’ education and contribute enormously to every project we undertake. We are delighted to be able to offer three of them new responsibilities at school next year, in keeping with their background and qualifications.

Here are the details regarding the infant learning assistants for next year.

  • Sabrina will be in PS with Yvelise (and Nicolas at naptime), she will continue to do the ECAs at midday as an ECA.

  • Wan-Ting will be in MS French with Julie Ciliotta, a teacher joining us from the Lycée Internationale de Los Angeles (LILA)

  • Kuo-Ying will be in MS English with Matthew

  • Gina Liu will be joining the team and working with Marina in GS French

  • Essema will be working with Charles in GS English (while Jaya moves on to CE2)

  • Sara-Maria, a qualified classroom teacher and sports instructor, will be joining Karen Corne in our EAL department in the mornings. Karen will be working in CP English in the afternoons, while Sara-Maria will be teaching sport to MS, GS and CP classes.

  • Finally, Wan-Ting and Kuo-Ying will be putting their language qualifications to good use by teaching Chinese to the two MS classes. They will know the students, the class projects and will make Chinese class a more integrated part of MS daily class life.

The rest of the team looks forward to seeing you on the 19th August for another year of adventures. Best of luck to those who are leaving us, and I hope everyone has excellent holidays!

Ms. Carine Capel
