Completed teaching trip to Cuba, received invitations to return to Cuba and Haiti and to begin work in Venezuela
Cuba
Last week, I traveled with Timothy Two's International Director, Steve Curtis (below left), to begin equipping local pastors in Havana, Cuba. Steve accompanied me for the first day and a half to confirm and ensure the safety of the project. And thankfully, we had no interference from government officials upon arrival, during the week, or at departure.
On Sunday evening, we had the privilege of participating in worship at the host church (above right and video below).
Timothy Two: Group Singing at House-Church and Pastors' Workshop in Cuba

And I was invited to preach by our host pastors, Leo and Esdras (below right). A Cuban university student, Taimy (below left and right), served as our interpreter for the worship service and for the workshop.
A group of 10 Cuban pastors (below right) of various Protestant denominations, traveled from near and far to study the Bible's teaching on the attributes of God. At the conclusion of each of the 21 lessons, we engaged in interactive (and fun!) group discussions (below left) to develop illustrations and study questions for each topic. Going forward, these pastors plan to pass on these teachings to the second, third and fourth generations of disciples-teachers in their home towns, who, like them, have no access to formal theological training.
Participating pastor testimonials
Several of the pastors were happy to share video testimonials (below) of their experiences in the workshop and how they plan to train others using this material. Also, see more testimonials and other videos here
Baptist Pastor Reidel Romero Alambarri
Pentecostal Pastor Lorenzo Ibanez Puebla
Pastor Yanelis Reyes Alvarez is from Las Tunas, Cuba, over 400 miles from Havana
Return trips to Cuba/Haiti scheduled for March/April
I have been invited to return to Cuba beginning March 12 (just 6 weeks from now) and to return to Haiti beginning April 10. Please pray with us that God will provide the needed funds ($1800 each) for these two upcoming trips.
The streets of Cuba
You may be curious - like many in the U.S. - about "our mysterious neighbor" due to the 50+ year embargo between us. So to give you a bit of a "live" feel of the Cuban culture, I shot video excerpts (below) of my daily morning walk (accompanied by Pastor Leo) through the streets of Havana from the guest house where I stayed at night to the workshop meeting place.

And if you'd like to learn more about Cuba, here's a link to an informative three-part article from a participant in the "person to person" visitor program there in 2014.
Invitation to Venezuela
Just a few days ago, I received an invitation to teach our workshops for the first time in Venezuela. I will let you know when this is placed on the calendar.
Other Latin American nations
And we are awaiting word from our contacts in Belize and Mexico who are working hard to set up our first trips to these countries.
Prison chaplain prayer request
I learned just yesterday that there was a glitch in the chaplain hiring process at Pender Correctional Institution, so the position is being re-posted. That means I must re-apply, re-interview and thus wait another 3 months to learn the results. Until then, I will continue working part-time as Sonnenberg Painting & Home Repair between trips  with Timothy Two.
You make it possible
Finally, we always remember that it is only possible to carry out this ministry with your continued help. So we thank you once again for your ongoing encouragement, prayers, and support.

In Christ,

Dan and Beth Sonnenberg
