God has opened the door to train pastors in Cuba in January!

In my previous email we asked you to pray for:

Interpreters in Cuba and Mexico.

January 15-20 are the dates for my first teaching trip to Cuba. God has provided the interpreter we needed! The coordinator of this workshop is making final preparations for us and for the pastors who will attend. Steve Curtis is planning to join me in Cuba for the first two days because of the present instability of the nation. "Two are better than one...though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him..." (Eccl. 4:9-12). Interpreters have also been found for the Mexico trip which will likely take place a bit later in 2017.

Return trips to Haiti and Colombia.

Recovery is going slowly but surely in Haiti. We hope to hold another workshop there soon. We are also seeking to return to Colombia to teach the second workshop.

Prison chaplain position.

On December 21, I am scheduled to interview for the chaplain position at Pender Correctional Institution in nearby Burgaw, NC. I've been volunteering there for the past 8 months in hopes of replacing the previous chaplain after his retirement in October. Pender is a medium security state prison with 750 inmates. The chaplain's job is to counsel and disciple inmates and to coordinate the work of 150 volunteers who provide Christian and other religious services for inmates. I would like to serve there if the job is offered and if they are willing to let me work around my Timothy Two trips. I hope to use the Timothy Two training materials in the prison when I'm not using them on the field overseas. I will let you know how this turns out.

First teaching trip to Belize.

Steve Kohl, a missionary to Belize who is from Wilmington, NC, is making arrangements for my first trip to train pastors in Belize. Belize is a tiny country in Central America located below Mexico, east of Guatemala, and north of Honduras. There are both English and Spanish speaking pastors there who need training.

Thanks for your continued prayers, and have a blessed Christmas!

In Christ, Dan
