Before arriving in Thailand we prayed for God to locate us where we could minister to people around us. Recently Sherry prayed for ministry opportunities, and the same day a door opened! As we were sitting near a few people from the apartments, one lady invited Sherry to join them in their conversation. She moved her chair closer and they started to chat. Then, one of the ladies invited her to go with them the next morning to the market. As they were walking through a temple area religion became the discussion topic. One lady claimed to be a Buddhist, and the other did not claim any religion. Sherry mentioned that she is a Christian, and the words were received with smiles. After returning home Sherry baked cookies and shared them with the ladies. The response was unexpected! One of the ladies immediately was overcome with emotions and tears. She was honored to receive the cookies and Sherry's friendship. A few moments later they shared a hug and departed ways. The second lady received the cookies with a smile and gratitude.
God is opening a door to minister to the many Japanese women and families at our apartment building. Their spouses work as managers in a local factory. There are many more Japanese families living in our apartment building. We are so blessed to be the hands and feet of Jesus and look forward to seeing how these and other friendships develop. Please pray for more doors to open, we see them open, and walk through the door to share the good news of Jesus.
The Free Methodist Church-USA commits to making every effort to honor your requested gift designation. In the event this is not possible, or funding exceeds the need, your gift will be applied to a similar ministry area that best meets the needs of the church.
