The rain has been a big help to the grass and we had plenty of work to do indoors! We're taking today off, so see you at market on Friday.
Our van returned from a month-long hiatus at the repair shop last week, just in time to be loaded with boxes headed for our off-site freezer. Returning home after dark, I was alarmed as Jake drove the van right out into the field! Jake knew better though and flicked on the high beams to reveal why he'd driven right out to the cows- a fresh calf had arrived! One of our first-time heifers, Velvetine had been eyeballing Jake all day, apparently waiting for us to go away before she calved. She did it all on her own and delivered a healthy bull calf, pictured below.
With the closing of Merry Meeting Kitchen, our online store has gone through an update. You'll notice the site looks a little different AND you can check out as a guest, without creating a local line account. Our inventory has been updated for the week and there you'll find cuts of chicken that may not make it to market, as well as pints jars of Galle Farm honey! Some items (this week whole chickens) will be set-up so that the final weight will be calculated before you can pay. We'll be using this feature to offer more cuts and to simplify the inventory process. Looking for something else? Drop us an email.
Click here to shop and choose a pick-up location (you can still pick-up at Merry Meeting Kitchen this week). All orders are due by Thursday at 9 AM.
See you at market,
