Thanks to all of you that braved the summer temperatures to come see us on Sunday! It was great to see so many families, some of whom had visited us last in 2019! For those of you that opted to remain in front of a fan, on the beach or in the water - we'll offer two Sunday tours later this Fall.
Last week I mentioned the slow growth of our broiler chickens meant we would not have fresh chicken, this week we will! We learned that the feed mill had not been adding a key ingredient, methionine at the correct rate for at least the past 6 weeks. This crucial amino acid helps the birds in every aspect of their growth. The lack of it means we're having to raise them 2-3 weeks longer which has caused some significant snarls in our processing schedule. Fortunately, our mill will be replacing the grain this week and it is our hope the broilers (and our laying hens) will respond in kind- keep your fingers crossed!
It was a delight to get caught in the rain and soaked to the skin twice yesterday. This week looks a bit less hot than last and we hope to pick-up more beef. In the meantime, our online store has been stocked and you can again order fresh chicken. Click here to shop.
To place an order- log-in to Local Line, make your selections, choose a pick-up location and pay. Paying with credit card? Please choose the "pay later" option.
