"GCAA -- the voice for Georgia's aggregate industry"
From the Executive Director, Jeff Wansley
2017 is proving to be a busy year for GCAA! The legislative session is in full force and we are at the Capitol representing your interests. Click HERE for legislative update.
We kicked off the legislative session with the Annual Georgia Chamber Eggs and Issues breakfast. Thanks to Travis Miller, Bluegrass Materials; Scott Dickson, Hanson Aggregates; Joe Reilly, Martin Marietta and Gary Gray, Vulcan Materials who attended on behalf of our industry. GCAA co-hosted the table with our friends from the Georgia Ready Mix Concrete Association.
GCAA co-hosted the annual Transportation Legislative reception with the Georgia Highway Contractors and the Georgia Ready Mix Concrete Association. We had a great turn out from the transportation industry, GDOT, legislators and legislative staff from both state and federal offices. Lt Governor Casey Cagle, Senator Brandon Beach (Senate Transportation Chairman) and Representative Kevin Tanner (House Transportation Chairman) addressed the group. See below for photos from that event.
We are continuing to work on several issues on behalf of the industry with staff of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division. Special thanks to Randy Quintrell and Cody Hale for their efforts on these issues.
GDOT – Terry Mathews (GCAA) and Kevin Mauldin (Bluegrass) represented GCAA at the monthly GDOT Board meeting. GDOT January 2017 Board Meeting Agenda - HERE
