Lt. Governor Casey Cagle Addresses GCAA at the 2017 Management Workshop
On February 27-March 1, the GCAA held its annual Management Workshop at the Cobb Galleria. It was an outstanding success with a record number of attendees this year totaling over 600. Our line-up of speakers for the sessions and the General Session were outstanding and informative. We were honored to have Lt Governor Casey Cagle as our keynote speaker this year. The Lt Governor gave our group an up to date account of the legislative session as well as his vision for improving education in our state. We had 72 exhibitors this year including 8 new companies exhibiting. GCAA thanks all members and participants in the workshop this year.
GCAA has had a very busy winter season! We were excited to host GDOT staff in Macon for an open house event and we continued that momentum with a successful 2017 Management Workshop. We are thankful from the great participation of our membership and exhibitors.
GCAA is also busy under the Gold Dome as the 2017 General Assembly winds down. See below for two important bills that GCAA is supporting on behalf of our industry.
On February 16th, the GCAA Technical & Marketing Committee hosted an aggregate Open House with members of GDOT staff. The event was hosted at the Aggregates USA Macon, Georgia, quarry. This roundtable discussion and tour gave our industry leaders a great opportunity to discuss issues with key members of the GDOT staff. Presentations were given, a tour of the quarry and roundtable luncheon with Q&A proved to be a productive day as we continue to improve dialogue with GDOT.
