Dear Friends in Travel
Going into the second quarter of 2021, some of our favourite pilgrim destinations such as Israel, Turkey, Spain and Portugal are emerging out of third, and some even fourth nationwide lockdowns. But new seasons bring new hope and in the Northern hemisphere, Spring is in the air! Optimistic rumours of borders opening soon make a passionate travel enthusiastic like myself super excited.

Israel is currently the world leader in vaccinations with Spain also well on track, aiming to vaccinate 70% of the adult Spanish population with at least a first dose by June 2021.

South Africa on the other hand is currently still under Level 1 lockdown and although vaccination programs have been rolled out, things are going a bit slow. International travel is allowed but many borders are still closed for South Africans. Reality is that with Covid-19 regulations constantly changing, travelling abroad remains uncertain for South African citizens.
Although the tourism industry has been suffering massively, the pandemic has taught us a vital lesson:
Travel is a privilege, not a right.
So we need to be patient. With better testing protocols and vaccinations being rolled out globally, trips abroad will start to become easier. We will pack our bags and board international flights once again, just not yet.
Do you have an international pilgrimage planned for 2021?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but we advise you to rather postpone your travel plans to 2022.
All the
WeGo Journeys Camino de Santiago packages will stay the same for 2022 and your current dates remain flexible. So rather make the call sooner than later to postpone your trip. Remember, there are many other pilgrims constantly changing their plans and the demand for 2022 is on the rise.

Please contact us ASAP regarding your current travel plans. We will be glad to make recommendations and help to plan your new venture.

Preparations for your trip starts way before you actually
start packing your bags.

2021 is the year to become more mindful: a mental training practice that teaches you to slow down racing thoughts, let go of negativity, and calm both your mind and body.
